Brass Repairs and Restorations
You will receive a professional restoration (overhaul) for your brass instrument, including the highest quality craftsmanship. Let your horn look and play its best. Included in the overhaul price is a mouthpiece plating in your choice of silver or gold plating.
The trumpet overhaul includes the following:
* Chemically cleaning the instrument - inside and out. This removes all the old build-up inside.
* Removal of all the dents.
* The instrument is gently buffed for the highest "luster" while maintaining the acoustical & structural quality of the metal.
* Only the highest quality, instrument grade lacquer is used in the refinishing process to retain and protect the highly polished metal.
* The valves are lapped in and aligned to the valve ports for best tonal response.
Several options for finishes are available. You can select raw brass, lacquered bright, satin sand finish, satin sand finish with bright highlights (photos on photo gallery page), or if you want your lacquered brass instrument changed to a silver- plate finish, or the finish on your silver-plated instrument requires a complete replating - the price will be $100 more (please select silverplated overhaul).
If your silver-plated instrument only needs spot plating on the normal wear areas, the price will be $450, as I can spot plate those areas to blend in beautifully with the rest of the finish.
I offer as an option 24 karat goldplating highlights with silver instruments or completely plating the entire instrument in 24 karat gold.
The price listed is for a complete instrument. Any missing parts that are currently available, I can make, or I have in stock, will be an additional cost.
The tenor trombone overhaul (any brand) includes following:
(F attachment trombones are $100 additional).
* Chemically cleaning the instrument - inside and out. This removes all the old build-up inside.
* Removal of all the dents from the body and hand slide.
* The slide is realigned for smooth action. Excessively damaged or crushed inner and / or outer slides may incur additional cost, assuming parts are available. 99% of the instruments sent to us have been restorable.
* The entire instrument is gently buffed for the highest "luster" while maintaining the acoustical and structural quality of the metal.
* Only the highest quality, instrument grade lacquer is used in the refinishing process to retain and protect the highly polished metal.
* The complete overhaul also includes one mouthpiece plating in silver or gold.
